The Education Bureau published 2027/28 annual material on 2026-08-28. Only source-locked official dates and the age range appear below; the school-choice list keeps a separate publication status.

Hong Kong P1 admission 2027/28: understand the two POA stages
Government and aided P1 admission has two stages: Discretionary Places followed by Central Allocation. Official 2027/28 dates are published; the school-net list still needs the annual EDB list.
Discretionary PlacesP1 Discretionary Places 2027/28: apply to one school
The choice may be outside the home school net, but a child cannot apply to several government or aided schools at this stage. Choose one school, then verify the mandatory category, points and evidence.
Points SystemPrimary One points system 2027/28: which items can be combined
Place each eligible item in the correct group: one relationship item, at most one religion or sponsoring-body item, and the separate age item. Every claim requires evidence.
Central Allocation Part A2027/28 Part A: up to three choices outside your school net
List up to three schools without a school-net restriction. The computer considers all first choices before moving unmatched applicants to second and third choices.
Central Allocation Part B2027/28 Part B: check your school net, then order choices
Verify the child's residential school net and the applicable annual list before ordering acceptable schools by genuine preference. An unofficial ranking position is not used in allocation.
ePOA and checklistePOA 2027/28: signing is not the final submission step
After signing with iAM Smart+, the parent must still confirm submission and retain the electronic record. Result viewing and school registration remain separate tasks.
After allocation2027/28 P1 knock-door: register first, then check each school
Unless the family has decided to decline, register at the allocated school within the official period. Then check each target school's current rules and prepare a concise truthful letter only if it accepts one.
