Source verification and editorial methodology

Source hierarchy

1. The official school admission page or a notice on the official website.
2. An application system, Google Site, PDF or form directly linked by the official school website.
3. An official school social account only when the website links it or the same information can be corroborated.

MySchool and AfterSchool define the original 68-school monitoring roster only. Their dates are not admission evidence.

Date classification

Dates are classified as application opening, application deadline, information session, open day, interview, arrangement lookup, result, registration, document task, system maintenance or announcement. Only a general application deadline explicitly stated on an applicable official 2027/28 source enters the confirmed-deadline list.

Approximate wording such as early August, mid-September or late October stays approximate and is never converted into an invented exact date.

Status decisions

Open requires the opening time to have arrived and the deadline not to have passed. Announced means the official window is known but starts in the future. Partial info means some current-cycle facts exist but no confirmed deadline is available. Not published means no verifiable current-cycle timetable has been found. Closed means the deadline passed or the official source says applications closed. School closed describes operating identity and is separate from an ordinary application closing.

How through-train, direct and linked schools are matched

Relationship types come only from the official 2025 Primary School Profiles and are joined to the locked roster of 441 official 2025/26 Secondary School Profiles. Fuzzy school-name matching is prohibited.

• The current release links 30 primary-secondary profile pairs: 28 exact Traditional Chinese names, 1 self-reference and 1 manually reviewed character-variant alias.
• International Christian Quality Music Sec. and Pri. School has no exact standalone target in the locked secondary-profile roster, so its official wording remains visible without an inferred link.
• A relationship label does not mean automatic progression, guaranteed places, admission probability or a 2027 arrangement. Families must verify current eligibility and places with both schools.

Hong Kong time and freshness

Current-date comparisons use Asia/Hong_Kong. Each daily build recalculates announced, open and closed states, but an exact same-day closing time remains controlled by the school's wording rather than the page generation date alone.

Conflicts and corrections

When a current official page conflicts with an older PDF, both cycle and meaning are reviewed before the applicable official version is adopted and the reason recorded. Material changes to dates, sources, processes or school identity enter the versioned update record.

Advertising eligibility and editorial independence

The Google AdSense account connection script loads only on the homepages and manually written practical guides. It does not load on generated school profiles, historical profiles, directories, rankings, calendars, tools or policy pages. Advertising eligibility, revenue and partnerships cannot change a source, status, deadline, ranking method or correction decision.

Ranking boundary

Admission dates come only from official school sources. The Top 100 research index uses structural fields in the official 2025 Primary School Profiles and disclosed weights. It is not an Education Bureau ranking, academic result, banding, admission probability or child-fit score.

2026 primary-school research index v6

The 100-point index combines 60 points from P1Tracker owner original reputation research, 10 from official secondary pathways, 15 from official teaching capacity and 15 from official campus resources. The highest original research score, 83.1, is normalized to 60 points and every other listed school receives score divided by 83.1 and multiplied by 60; research rank and tier are version records and do not score separately. An eligible school absent from the 148-school research list receives a fixed 15/60. No listed official pathway receives 5/10. A missing teaching or campus source field receives 50% of that subcomponent, totalling 7.5/15 when a whole category is unavailable. The 50% rule is a missing-data fallback, not a score floor. Operating history is informational only and does not score.

Of 148 research records, 146 match the 495-school official-profile roster. Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School and True Light Middle School of Hong Kong (Primary Section) have no matching 2025 official structural profile, so they remain in the research source without invented values for the other 40 points and do not enter this combined edition. Underlying third-party school-level ranks are not stored or republished.
