How to read Primary One admission dates
Read the official action beside the date. Application, event booking, interview, result lookup and registration are not interchangeable.
Application opening
This is when a school starts accepting forms or opens its online system. If opening remains in the future, status is announced even when the deadline is already published.
Application deadline
Only an official date and time explicitly described as the final point for a general application can become a confirmed deadline. Event registration, payment maintenance, a document task or portfolio is a different action.
Information session and open day
An event may occur before, on or after application opening. Announcing it does not open applications, and a full event does not close the P1 application.
Interview and arrangement lookup
The start of an interview period and the date when a family can look up its assigned time are different events. Follow the personal notice instead of treating the entire interview period as one appointment.
Results and registration
A first result, second-round invitation, final offer and registration each need a separate reminder, but they apply to completed applicants and do not belong in the new-application deadline list.
Document and maintenance dates
St Stephen's portfolio deadline applies to existing applicants, while Pui Ching's payment maintenance is a service interruption. Neither is a new-application deadline. The verb around a date often matters more than the date itself.

Find the verb, audience and cycle before processing the date
Submit an application, register for a session, upload a document, check an arrangement and system maintenance are different tasks. A date cannot be extracted alone.
Check whether the item applies to all new applicants, families who already submitted, invited candidates or one applicant. The reminder purpose changes with the audience.
An accessible page is not necessarily applicable to 2027/28. An old PDF, tab or search snippet keeps its original year.
Early month, mid-month and details to follow can create a check prompt only. They never become an invented day or confirmed deadline.
Classify a new date in four steps
- Open the official school admission page or a document directly linked from it.
- Confirm the school, year level and 2027/28 cycle.
- Choose the event type from the official verb and audience.
- Only an exact general application limit enters the deadline calendar; every other date enters its own process or remains unpublished.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a date shown in a search-result snippet?
No. A snippet can be stale or omit the cycle and purpose. Open the official page or official linked document and read the complete surrounding wording.
Does applications accepted in September mean an opening on 1 September?
No. Month-level wording remains approximate and can prompt a recheck only. It does not create an exact opening date.
Is an event-registration deadline the same as a P1 application deadline?
No. It controls a session, open day or tour place. It cannot become an admission deadline unless the official source separately labels it that way.
What happens when an official page and older PDF conflict?
Check the cycle, publication date and purpose of both. Use the currently applicable official version and record a material correction. If ambiguity remains, publish no exact value.
