How to read Primary One admission dates
A future date is not automatically an application deadline; its official label and context determine its meaning.
Application opening
This is when a school starts accepting forms or opens its online system. If opening remains in the future, status is announced even when the deadline is already published.
Application deadline
Only an official date and time explicitly described as the final point for a general application can become a confirmed deadline. Event registration, payment maintenance, a document task or portfolio is a different action.
Information session and open day
An event may occur before, on or after application opening. Announcing it does not open applications, and a full event does not close the P1 application.
Interview and arrangement lookup
The start of an interview period and the date when a family can look up its assigned time are different events. Follow the personal notice instead of treating the entire interview period as one appointment.
Results and registration
A first result, second-round invitation, final offer and registration each need a separate reminder, but they apply to completed applicants and do not belong in the new-application deadline list.
Document and maintenance dates
St Stephen's portfolio deadline applies to existing applicants, while Pui Ching's payment maintenance is a service interruption. Neither is a new-application deadline. The verb around a date often matters more than the date itself.
