Four separate folders
Hong Kong P1 application document checklist: four stages kept separate
No document list applies to every school. Keep application, interview, registration and post-allocation material separate, then verify each official notice.
Answer first
There is no universal document list for every P1 school and stage. Keep four folders: application, interview or meeting, registration after an offer, and post-allocation application. Check the Education Bureau, current school admission page or applicant notice each time. A previous-cycle list explains process only.
Folder one: application
Separate “officially required” from “submission completed”. Depending on the applicable notice, check the current form or account, child and parent identity evidence, POA address proof, an applicable relationship or religious document, school-specific photos or reports, payment evidence only when the official system charges a fee, and an email, system page or receipt confirming submission.
A portfolio required by one school is not a universal requirement. Registration for an information session is not a P1 application.
Folder two: interview or meeting
Use the personal notice to check the date, reporting time, entrance, on-site or online format, attendees, originals or copies, notice or form, clothing or items, and the official contact for weather, illness, lateness or rescheduling.
A public interview period is not the child's appointment. P1Tracker shows verifiable public stages and does not ask a family to enter a personal interview time.
Folder three: registration after an offer
Find out whether replying to an offer and completing registration are separate. Check the acceptance method, registration place and time, reply slip or letter, identity evidence, official fee terms, consequence of missing the step, the POA effect of accepting a DSS P1 place and the separate arrangement for a private-school offer.
Do not turn “offered” into “accepted” automatically. The route planner keeps those states separate.
Folder four: post-allocation application
Follow the official instruction to register at the allocated school first. Then check whether an individual school accepts applications, its form and submission route, allocation or registration documents, any requested photos or identity evidence, whether it accepts a portfolio or letter, and any school-based interview, written task, period or deadline.
Do not bulk-submit unrequested material to show enthusiasm. Accuracy and compliance with the format matter more than thickness.

Print the table or keep it on a private family device. P1Tracker does not collect or upload identity documents, address, child name, application number, personal appointment or document content.
Five-minute submission check
- The school year and entry grade are correct.
- The application, event registration and interview reply are not confused.
- File format, size, name and page count follow the notice.
- Required fields are complete and match the evidence.
- Keep the official confirmation and record the next step in a private calendar.

Generic categories do not replace school requirements
Use the current Education Bureau form and notes for POA. For DSS and private schools, return to each 2027/28 official admission page. This checklist never turns one school's item into a universal requirement.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does every primary school require a portfolio?
No. Prepare one only when the school's current official notice requires or explicitly accepts it. Do not submit one when the school says it will not accept it.
Should I upload a child's documents to P1Tracker?
No. P1Tracker's public tools do not collect or store identity documents, address, application number or private notice.
Does successful event registration complete the P1 application?
No. An open day, information session or experience-day registration is separate from the formal P1 application.
Can I reuse last year's document list?
Use it only to understand the process. Recheck the current form, format, fee, dates and attachments on the official source.
